“Two years ago, I was part of a cohort at Fieldstone Leadership Academy, where I had the opportunity to get to know the Executive Director, Robin Sinclair. One day, Robin reached out to say she’d like to host a meet-and-greet with a local foundation that might align with Pathways’ goals and mission.
I was invited to present Pathways and our work, and through that conversation, I learned more about One Vine. I was truly honored by the connection, and it was clear that Marissa and the One Vine Foundation felt the same—that our missions and values are deeply aligned.”
Our Connection
OneVine Foundation began its partnership with Pathways in 2025, and it has been a privilege to come alongside their mission. Through this collaboration, we awarded a Boaz Grant to support their continued impact. On August 22nd, we granted a Ruth Gift to a deserving “Ruth,” that covered her essential student needs allowing her to focus fully on her education. We also had the honor of recognizing Angelica Sanchez with the Ruth Grace Award, celebrating her journey through the program and the impact she is making today.
From our very first interaction, we could sense Diana’s passion and unwavering heart for the women she serves, making our decision to partner with Pathways a natural and enthusiastic “yes.”
Our Impact
On January 31st, OneVine had the honor of presenting a Ruth Grace Award to Angelica Sanchez, a Pathways To Independence graduate whose journey has been shaped by resilience and perseverance. Through hardship, Angelica discovered an inner strength that created a fire and drive within her to create a different future.
Angelica learned independence at an early age, navigating responsibilities far beyond her years as she learned how to provide for herself and persevere. She began working at just 15 years old to support herself, knowing that if she wanted to participate in extracurricular activities, she would have to fund them on her own. Many sacrifices were made along the way, but one thing she refused to sacrifice was her education. For years, Angelica worked two jobs while balancing full-time school pushing herself to the very edge of her limits. It was at that breaking point that Pathways entered her life. They stepped in at the moment she needed it most—covering her college tuition, providing access to therapy, and offering the emotional support and guidance she had longed for and that everyone deserves.
Today, Angelica reflects on the life she once only imagined: “I have a loving husband, two wonderful sons, a fulfilling career, and a stable life. I would not be where I am today without Pathways, and my journey reflects resilience built through perseverance, accountability, and the power of a supportive community.”
Community has played and continues to play a vital role in Angelica’s life. For many, independence can become a coping mechanism, and asking for help may feel like weakness.
“Through Pathways, I learned that humility is not about minimizing your effort, but about acknowledging those who help make growth possible.”
This perspective has shaped the way Angelica lives her life. She continues to share her story boldly and with confidence, believing deeply in the importance of honoring her journey, her community who walked alongside her because when you find your community, just like Angelica did, you feel the strength of those standing in your corner.
